Confirmation is the final step into full initiation into the life and mission of the church that was begun at Baptism.
The mission of Christ, passed on to the Church and to each one of us as disciples of Christ, is to be witnesses to Christ as the Son of God and our Savior.
Confirmation is also then the “commencement” step into living out our call to “Go, therefore, and make disciples of all the nations… (Matthew 28:19).”
We are called to be God’s hands and feet in the world, working with Christ to bring about the Kingdom on Earth. In the Sacrament of Confirmation, the Holy Spirit equips us more fully with His gifts to build up the Church and, with the fruits of the Holy Spirit, to make us effective in our witness.
To prepare for reception of the Sacrament of Confirmation, students in both the school programs the Family Faith Formation programs will review key tenets of our Catholic faith, as well as plan, execute, or review discipleship activities. There will also be a retreat, a Confirmation rehearsal, and an optional monthly (1 hour) parent/sponsor meeting.
Sessions occur between September – April, on designated Sundays from 10:30 am – 12:30 pm in the Youth Room on IHM’s campus.
